Baby Shower Ideas Scrapbooking

Fantastic Ideas- Scrapbook for your Baby Shower Memories

If you are running out of new ideas for your baby shower , how about a scrapbooking baby shower! What could be more meaningful than showing the new mother-to-be how to cherish her baby's memories and her own in a safe manner? A scrapbook baby shower is a way to preserve the day and all the fun and excite that you had.

A scrapbooking baby shower is depending on what you and the other participants would like to do it can be expensive or well within budget it just depends on how creative you wish to be.

Baby Shower Games

Baby Alphabet Game - Give each woman a pen and a piece of paper that has the alphabet written vertically down the left side of the page. The object of the game is for the woman to write one word that has to do with babies next to each letter of the alphabet. Set a timer for two minutes and whoever has the most baby words wins.

Baby Pictionary - Before attending the baby shower, create some cards by writing words or phrases that have to do with babies on each card. Once the games start at the baby shower, divide everyone into teams and give each team a pen or pencil and piece of paper.
Each round, one person from each team views a card and draws a picture of the word or phrase for her team to guess.

The team that has the correct guess first earns one point. Set a time limit of say two minutes this will keep the game moving and want waste time during the shower. If the timer goes off before a team guesses correctly, allow someone new from each team to draw and choose a new card. After playing between five-ten rounds, the teams add up their points and the team with the most wins. As with all games played a prize should be given to the winning team.

The Name Game - Collect a baby name (First and Middle Names)from each guest as they arrive at the party. If the sex is not known, have the women write down the name of boy or girl. If the sex of the baby is known, have them write down both a first and middle name. Set the timer and see how many words they can create from the name they have picked I would say no longer than five minutes for this game.

Have everyone bring supplies for a coordinated page set for a gift. The guests could bring a couple sheets of solid paper, with one sheet of patterned, colored paper, a couple of die cuts, and some stickers to make a great page Layout.

Make sure you set a price limitfor the gifts and have them bring scrapbook supplies related to a baby theme. as we know some people can get a little carried away when it comes to buying gifts. Remember its not a competition it is a celebration.
Put a list together of needed supplies always get input from the mother-to-be and hand it out to the guests for easier shopping or check with a local store to see if you can create a baby registry for the mom-to-be. A good way to do this is to send out the requirements with the invitations so everybody is prepared fr the day.

Once you have your ideas for the theme, try some of these shower games and activities:
Make sure you have someone as photographer to document the baby shower .

Hand out acid-free cards to all the guests. Have them write their best motherly advice or a congratulations message on the card. These make great fillers for the scrapbook and give it a personal touch.

If you don't want to do the pages at the shower, have everyone make their creation for the new baby book and you can help the mother to be complete it at a later date.

When ready get out all the baby shapes in a co-ordinated color or pattern (teddy bear, foot, rattle, dummy, trees whatever the shapes are) and place them evenly along the strip. Stick them with acid free glue to the strip so you make a nice border for your pages. You may even want to place adhesive with a pull off strip on the bottom for even quicker use or for later changes.

It would be nice if you could have one page finished and ready for the guests to sign. Ask each person to write a small comment to the mom-to-be.

Baby Shower Games to play
Baby shower games at your baby shower can be one of the most memorable experiences during the pre-baby events that will take place for the days to come. Part of making the experience successful is by thoughtful party planning and having fun baby shower games! Before starting the baby shower games, it is always good to go around the room first as an ice breaker and have everyone introduce themselves and how they know the Mother-To-Be. Below we have listed the most popular baby shower games to play during the baby shower:

Never say "Baby": (Materials- baby safety pins or another type of baby object you can place on a string for each guest at the party as well as string or wool, make sure you have enough for each guest to have as a necklace). Have each guest will place the necklace with the baby pins around their neck when they get to the party. The rules for this game are simple and are given out at the beginning of the baby shower party and whenever someone says the word "baby" (or what ever word you choose ) during the shower, any guest who calls it out first gets a safety pin from the other woman who stated the word. At the end of the baby shower, the woman with the most pins wins a prize. Again receiving a small gift for winning the prize.

Guess The Baby Food: (Needed - Baby food, Pads of Paper and pens/ pencils). Take the labels off the baby food jars and have the guests at the party guess the food (carrots, peas, sweet potato). Most fun to play up to 10 jars of different kinds of foods. If there is a tie, blindfold the women and have them taste one of the jars and guess the right flavor to win their prize.
